International contest for grafic designers. During the 1st edition we will see works of 118 artists from 28 countries.

The aim of the International Print Biennial Łódź 2016 is to create an exhibition presenting overall condition of the contemporary graphic art which would give artist from around the world an opportunity to confront their creative attitudes. What we wish to achieve is to become acquainted with the latest trends and tendencies in graphics.

The 1st International Print Biennial will be held in Łódź – a city of rich artistic tradition and handicrafts, but also the birthplace of the avant-garde group a.r. The group started its artistic activity in 1929, and the heritage that it left was the largest modern art collection in Europe, exhibited in the Museum of Art in Łódź. Moreover, this remarkable group happened to be the trigger of the establishment of the Strzemiński Academy of Art. Identity of Łódź is determined both by contemporary art of highest quality and the past that belonged to factories. This, what objects are made with, whether it is human hands or a machine, reflects the spirit of modern graphic art and print.
