LO_LA DESIGNS: Anna Orlikowska & Beata Wandachowicz

Zero Waste is a philosophy that encourages the processing of materials in such a way, that the least waste possible is produced. By referring to this slogan, we would like to make things from the materials regarded as waste in manufacturing companies – unnecessary scraps of materials (wood, glass, plexiglass) remaining after the production process of other objects, materials that are considered to be worthless and that are usually thrown into trash. In our project we would like to use their specific form, which remains outside of the general idea of beauty and usefulness.
In design, we are mostly interested in creating surprising objects of everyday life and to use widely-understood recycling: of both objects and ideas. We are searching for new solutions and functions for the things that surround us. That is why most of our projects are hand-made and have unique character. We are trying to design items based on an interesting, surprising, sometimes crazy idea, which is hard to find in mass production. - Lo_la
